Privacy policy

What we collect

• Your account: email address, a password (stored scrambled by our sign-in provider, so we never see it), your display name, @handle, and, if you add them, a short bio and home city.
• What you post: posts, prices (cut, price, unit, store, day and city), photos and their descriptions, comments, “this helped” marks, reports you send and appeals you write.
• Moderation records: decisions about your content or account, with the reason given.
• Technical: your IP address, which our own database uses only to stop abuse (counting how many requests come in a short time) and keeps for at most two days; and the cookies that keep you signed in. Our hosting and database providers also keep short-lived technical logs, which include IP addresses, to run and protect their services.

We don’t use advertising or analytics trackers right now. We plan to run ads in future to pay for the site. Before any ads or tracking go live, we’ll update this page and ask for your consent where the law requires it.

Photos

Before a photo is published we re-save it as new, resized copies. Those copies carry no location or camera details, and the original upload is deleted once it has been processed.

What is public

Your display name, @handle, bio, home city (if you set one), your posts, photos, comments and prices, and your member level. Your email address is never shown to anyone.

How we use it

• To run the site: show your posts, let you sign in, and send notifications on the site.
• To keep it safe: automatic checks on new posts, moderation, and limits on how fast anyone can post.
• To email you about your account only: confirming your email and resetting your password. No newsletters or marketing.

We don’t sell your personal information.

Automatic checks

New posts are checked automatically with simple rules (for example, for links or phone numbers), and some are held for a person to review. If we switch on an outside AI screening service, the text of new posts would be sent to that provider to be checked. We will name it on this page before that happens.

Who else handles your data

• Supabase (United States) stores the database, sign-in details and photos.
• Vercel (United States) hosts the website.
• Account emails are sent through our sign-in provider or an email delivery service working for us.

How long we keep it

• Your account and posts: while your account exists.
• Something you delete leaves the site at once. Its photos are erased 30 days later.
• A photo removed by a moderator is kept 30 days, so an appeal can restore it, then erased.
• Uploads that are never finished are erased after 24 hours. IP addresses used for rate limits: two days.
• Moderation records are kept even after the content is gone, so decisions stay fair and repeat abuse can be spotted.

Your choices

• Change your profile and notification settings any time in Settings, and delete your own posts and comments.
• Email hello@primecutclub.com to get a copy of your data, correct it, or delete your account. We answer every request within 30 days. When you delete your account we remove the account, profile and posts, keeping only a minimal record where needed to prevent abuse (for example, a ban). We honor these requests for everyone, wherever you live.

Children

Prime Cut Club is not for anyone under 13, and we don’t knowingly collect information from children.

Security

Passwords are stored scrambled, each member can only reach their own private data, and connections are encrypted. No system is perfect; if something goes wrong that affects you, we will tell you.

Changes

If we change this policy, we’ll update the date at the top, and for bigger changes we’ll tell members on the site first.
